Earlier this month Sony announced that it would soon be releasing the Sony Xperia E1 which is the company’s successor to last year’s Xperia E model. Details of the device were provided then but what was left out was its pricing and availability. We have recently learned that this device has already been placed on pre-order in the UK and German Amazon sites.
Amazon UK lists the pre-order price of the Xperia E1 at £149.99. This is for the white version of the device and will be sold SIM-free. The expected release date is March 10.
Those living in the UK can also get the device from Clove which is offering it at a cheaper price of £134.99 (VAT included). This does not however include free shipping and the price is not officially set yet so there is a possibility that it will change.
The Amazon German site lists the pre-order price at €139.00. It also comes in three colors namely black, violet, and white. A dual-SIM version of the device called the Xperia E1 Dual is also available and costs an additional €10 or €149.99. No release date has been provided in this site.

Sony is calling this device as the “The most powerful smartphone processor in its class” which is true considering that several of the other smartphones in this price range are using a less powerful single core processor.
What’s probably the main selling point of this device is that it has a big speaker making it an ideal device for music lovers. The loudspeaker is rated at 100db and comes with Sony’s xLOUD sound enhancement engine. There’s also ClearAudio+ and Clear Bass technology which combines to deliver a crystal clear sound quality.
As an added bonus consumers who will get this device will also be provided with a 50GB free storage from Box which can be used forever. The Box Android app must be downloaded first on the device and an account must be created on or before December 31, 2014 to avail of this offer.
