A new prediction by KGI Research has shed light on the rumored specs of the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone. According to this prediction which is based off market analysis and other industry sources, the upcoming Samsung flagship will sport a 5.2 inch WQHD display, rendering a pixel density of 565 ppi. The prediction chart also mentions the existence of a Standard variant which sports the same 5.2 inch display but with the resolution toned down to 1080p. Other speculated specs of the smartphone include a 16MP camera sensor, 3GB of RAM and a fingerprint scanner.
The high-end or the Prime variant will reportedly sport a quad core Exynos 5430 octa core chip while the Standard will pack the Qualcomm MSM8974AC (Snapdragon 800) SoC and 2GB of RAM. It is claimed that both variants of the flagship will be launched with a plastic casing, so all talk of a metal Samsung flagship has temporarily died down. The mention of the fingerprint scanner is very interesting and we hope Samsung has done its homework on the technology, given the failure of HTC’s adaptation of the fingerprint scanning technology with the One Max phablet.
