It seems like Samsung will continue its tradition of launching smartphones with familiar names and hardware going into 2014 as well. The folks at Sammy Hub have just revealed the existence of the Galaxy Grand Neo, which will seemingly come with the same 5 inch display but with a lower resolution as well as a 1.2 GHz quad core CPU. The smartphone will also come with a new look design (like the Galaxy Note 3) and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with all the TouchWiz specific features we’ve come to expect from modern Samsung devices.
This appears to be a cheaper alternative to the Galaxy Grand 2 which broke cover in November last year. We’re not sure if this will make its way to global markets or if Samsung will limit its reach to a specific region, because there seems to be a lot of Galaxy Grand variants already. We expect the Galaxy Grand Lite to break cover sometime soon, so there are a total of two new Galaxy Grand handsets waiting to be launched.
Update: New reports have confirmed that the Galaxy Grand Neo is the retail name of the Galaxy Grand Lite which cleared FCC certification last week, so we now have one less Galaxy Grand variant to look forward to.
