According to Jason Mackenzie from HTC, the company will not be able to live up to the 90 day deadline it had for the rollout of Android 4.4 update for the HTC One smartphone. Back in November, the company had claimed that the newest Android update will be rolled out to HTC One smartphones over the globe by January.
While the unlocked variants have received the update already, the carrier variants are facing a delay, which was much expected to be honest. Jason Mackenzie specifies that the North American carriers are the only ones left to approve the update, after which the update rollout will begin as originally scheduled.
Fortunately, the delay is only two weeks which means the carriers will approve the update within the first or second week of February. The Android 4.4 update shouldn’t change a whole lot in terms of the user interface, but expect to see a ton of Android specific changes on board.
