LG has just unveiled the LG G2 smartphone in new Gold and Red variants, just as a rumor from Taiwan indicated a couple of days ago. The Gold variant looks very premium while the Red variant isn’t too bad either. The Gold variant has a special textured back cover instead of the standard plastic enclosure. This provides better grip for the users and increases the comfort of use as well. It seems like these variants will remain an exclusive in Asia for the time being as these are touted to be limited edition variants. LG will start selling the smartphone through Starhub, SingTel and M1 in Singapore beginning from January 18 with no word on a global launch at this point.
The rest of the hardware is pretty much the same as the standard LG G2, so don’t expect any surprises there. Maybe we can expect LG to strike a deal with American carriers to make this an exclusive, which would certainly boost sales of the device in the U.S.
