The Jolla Sailfish OS has been successfully ported onto the Nexus 4 thanks to some handy work done by a developer. It was known in the past that the Sailfish OS is pretty versatile and Jolla has specified that it is compatible with Android hardware as well as software, so it was only a matter of time before someone got their hands onto the ROM and ported it to an Android smartphone.
The developer also uploaded a video to show us how Jolla works on a Nexus 4. Needless to say, it’s a fully functioning ROM and should be ready for public use as well. Check out the video below to learn the functioning of the Sailfish OS as seen on a Nexus 4. A third party Sailfish ROM for Android could be a saving grace for the platform as the handset isn’t available everywhere around the world. It is clear that Jolla is counting heavily on developers like this to popularize the platform and we should expect more third party ROMs to surface in the coming weeks.
