According to a new revelation by Evleaks via Twitter, the HTC One successor or the HTC One 2 will feature a very familiar specs sheet and nothing revolutionary as one would have expected. The leak claims that the M8 (preliminary name for the HTC One 2) will pack a 5 inch 1080p display, an Ultrapixel camera of unknown resolution (possibly with a switchable lens) along with a 2.1MP front camera, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6.0 and a Qualcomm MSM8974 chipset a.k.a the Snapdragon 800.
This doesn’t come across as exciting news as Samsung and LG flagships are rumored to sport a substantially better display and an even better processor, so we hope these are merely the preliminary specifications of the smartphone. Since the HTC One didn’t make a lot of damage to Samsung last year despite showing a lot of promise, HTC will have to up the ante in a big way this year to make some noise in the market and remove that dreaded red ink from the profits column.
