We heard about the HP Slate 6 Voice Tab last week in a rumor. Today, a new rumor has shed light on what to expect from this large sized HP smartphone. This will supposedly be one of the two HP smartphones which are breaking cover next week and it’s quite clear from the specs that it will be a low cost midrange device.
According to a tipster cited by Phone Arena, the Slate 6 will cost close to $200 and will feature a quad core 1 GHz Marvell chip, a 6 inch 720p display and dual SIM connectivity. We are hoping it would run Android 4.4 KitKat at launch, but don’t be surprised to see Android 4.3 or even Android 4.2 running on board. This phablet will be targeted towards markets like China and India, according to the tipster.
A rumor yesterday claimed that HP is launching a 5.5 inch phablet next week which could be the second of the smartphones slated to be unveiled. There is word that HP is also looking to launch a sub $250 7 inch tablet next week, so we might be in for quite an exciting week ahead.
Update: HP has officially unveiled the Slate 6 and Slate 7 Voice Tab with Android 4.2 just a while ago. More details to follow.
