Renowned developer Gameloft has announced the arrival of the ‘Immersive Mode’ experience for its popular titles such as Asphalt 8, GT Racing 2 etc. Other titles include Blitz Brigade, Dungeon Hunter 4, Gangstar 4, Heroes of O&C, Order & Chaos, Order & Chaos Duels, Six Guns and Total Conquest.
Immersive Mode basically allows developers to utilize the entirety of the screen real estate, thus removing the black Android navigation bar at the bottom which is visible at all times. This will allow games to be played in full screen mode just like videos and will improve the overall user experience as well.
Google announced this feature with Android 4.4 KitKat, so it is now up to the developers to make use of this feature with their applications. Gameloft’s announcement to add its popular titles to the list comes as good news since it is one of the top developers in the Google Play Store with millions of downloads to its credit. We expect other app developers to follow suit, with most already supporting this feature.
