Motorola has just updated the Gallery application on the Moto G and the Moto X smartphone with a visual refresh. Functionality wise, the Gallery app is now more accessible and easy on the eye. It adopts the hamburger style menu which is seen across several native Google applications like the Play Store, Gmail etc. To make things easier for Motorola, the Gallery app is now a standalone application in the Google Play Store, which means Motorola can update it with fixes and improvements whenever it pleases rather than having to rely on Google for updates. Motorola has done this for several other applications, including the Assist and the Camera app.
This newly updated Gallery app supports Immersive Mode which removes the navigation and status bars allowing a full screen view of images. Motorola has also launched a few of its exclusive apps for the three DROID smartphones in the Google Play Store before, so this is nothing new for the company. If you own a Moto X or a Moto G smartphone, expect an update notification to pop up soon or you can manually update the app from the link provided below.
