Renowned budget smartphone manufacturer Blu Products has just launched a new budget handset called the Vivo 4.8 featuring a HD Super AMOLED display panel. The pricing has been set at $250, which is quite decent for a device of its size. Apart from the 720p 4.8 inch display, the Blu Vivo 4.8 also comes with a 1.5 GHz quad core SoC (possibly MediaTek), an 8MP camera on the back accompanied by a 5MP front camera, 16GB of internal storage (non-expandable), 1GB of RAM and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The smartphone is a mere 6.9mm in thickness, which is quite remarkable for a budget smartphone.
For $250, the Vivo 4.8 isn’t all that bad a deal. However, Blu isn’t a major manufacturer and for a mere $100 more you can get the LG Nexus 5, which makes us a bit wary about this budget offering. Nevertheless we’re sure there is a market for a smartphones like the Vivo 4.8, especially in regions where Nexus devices are not available, especially in remote regions of Latin America.
