In what appears to be the start of a global rollout of Android 4.4 for the LG G2, LG Saudi Arabia has just posted a tweet claiming the update’s arrival in the region before the end of the month. However, that tweet was soon deleted and there was another tweet issued as an apology. However, it goes without saying that an update is on the horizon, at least for the global unlocked variants.
LG promised to have the update rolling out before the end of Q1 2014, so this has certainly taken us by surprise. Unsurprisingly, South Korean LG G2 handsets are already running on Android 4.4 and there’s a video on YouTube showing off the features of this new update quite well. So if you want to know what’s new with the update, make sure you give that a brief look. Noticeable changes include the white status bar and the full screen immersive mode which allows for the complete use of the screen real estate. The user interface looks no different from the original LG G2, so we don’t think LG has changed the skin a whole lot. We will update you with more information on the update as LG begins the global rollout of the update.
