The Verizon Galaxy S4 is now receiving a minor OTA update similar to the one that hit the Galaxy Note 3 on the carrier recently. This update carries the build VRUEMK2 and brings forth a couple of small but significant updates. In addition to providing consistent data roaming in Canada and Mexico, the update will also bring better data connections whilst using proxy servers. The changelog further mentions enhancements to email connectivity as well as better support for non-Samsung chargers. We’re guessing some users have had issues using third party wall chargers with the Verizon Galaxy S4, which explains why Verizon found it worthy enough of being mentioned in its official changelog.
As this is a minor OTA update, the Android version will be unchanged, but the users will not complain as long as functionality is improved. As usual, the update might not appear on every Verizon Galaxy S4 out there so you might have to be a little patient or try pulling it manually through Samsung Kies or by heading over to phone settings – About Phone – Software Updates.
