A new Sony device has been spotted on our radars and it’s not what we were expecting. This one here is known as the Sony Xperia E2 and is reportedly a midrange smartphone with LTE on board, which hints at a Stateside launch. However, the launch will not take place until 2014, so we still have some waiting to do. We just hope this one doesn’t get lost in the midst of hundreds of midrange droids that are launched every month by a plethora of manufacturers.
The Xperia E2 will reportedly succeed the Xperia E which launched earlier this year to a lukewarm response. Going by the predecessor, it’s fair to assume that the Xperia E2 will also be of the same size but with an upgraded internal specs sheet. The presence of LTE will prove to be crucial for the smartphone’s success if Sony is looking to launch the smartphone in the U.S. through T-Mobile or any other off contract carrier. We should have more information on the smartphone during Sony’s CES event on the 6th of January or maybe during the Mobile World Congress in February.
