The Samsung Galaxy Camera has been a moderate success for Samsung since it broke cover last year. The company followed it up with the Galaxy S4 Zoom this year as a smartphone plus full-fledged point and shoot camera. It seems like Samsung is preparing the launch of the second gen Galaxy Camera with the model number EK-GC200 according to a listing on ePostel, which is Indonesia’s device certification portal. Considering that the first gen Galaxy Camera had the model number GC100, it’s safe to assume that what we have here is indeed the successor.
The listing doesn’t give away a lot of details but does mention the availability of Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC which is nothing surprising. But as we get closer to the unveiling of the Galaxy S5, we can expect to learn more about this new Samsung digital camera. Samsung recently launched the Galaxy NX camera which is a professional grade camera running full blown Android with TouchWiz onboard. If the past is any indication, the new Galaxy Camera should in all likelihood feature Samsung’s midrange hardware inside along with the ISOCELL sensor which was announced recently.
