Samsung Galaxy S4 on C Spire Wireless getting the Android 4.3 update

Galaxy S4 UpdateThe Samsung Galaxy S4 on C Spire Wireless is now getting the much awaited Android 4.3 update. Although this isn’t Android 4.4 as most of us would have expected, the update is pretty significant as it brings support for Samsung’s ill fated Galaxy Gear smartwatch. The update is rolling out in stages, so remain patient and the update notification will eventually pop up. To keep note, the update will bring the version number R970XWWUEMK6. The Galaxy S4 has quite a few variants in the U.S. and the update rollout dates usually differ from each carrier, which explains the relative delay in the rollout by C Spire. Below is the full changelog of the update:

  • Galaxy Gear Compatibility
  • Premium Suite Features
  • PEN. UP
  • Group Play 2.5
  • Multi-Window (Note 3 Version)
  • Camera – Sound & Shot
  • Group Messaging
  • Samsung Link Preload
  • New Easy Mode
  • Samsung Apps

In addition to bringing compatibility with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch and updating a few of Samsung’s apps, the update also brings stability and performance improvements across the board. So it’s not an incremental update as the Android version suggests.
