Samsung Galaxy S4 is the top selling Android smartphone among U.S. carriers

Samsung Galaxy S4According to a monthly wireless store survey by Canaccord Genuity, the Samsung Galaxy S4 was the most favorite Android smartphone among the top four carriers in the U.S. such as Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile from August up until November. Although Samsung was leading the entire pack up until August, ever since the new iPhones launched, the Samsung flagship slipped down to second and even third on some carriers in September. But in October, the smartphone managed to stick firmly to the second place as the iPhone 5c began to lose traction in the market. It’s not surprising that Samsung’s sales slipped down post the launch of the new iPhones as it was always expected. But Samsung can seek solace in the fact that it is the undisputed winner of the Android segment which has grown in competition over the years.

What’s also commendable is that Samsung was able to keep the demand up despite the smartphone being available for a good five months before the iPhone 5s and the 5c were launched by Apple. If the current figures are any indication, we expect the demand for the next Galaxy flagship to be even bigger as it is rumored to sport an all new design and a metal enclosure.
