Possible Fixes to the Galaxy Note 3 Can’t Connect to PC Problem
If you are experiencing a problem wherein your Galaxy Note 3 can’t connect to PC, try out the solutions enumerated in our previous articles called:

If any of the solutions mentioned in the previous articles don’t work for you, you might want to try out these additional fixes suggested by contributors in various blogs and forums dedicated to Android phones:
1. Enable USB Debugging
A blogger in Buzznet, advised this fix. To enable the Galaxy Note 3 USB debugging, simply follow the steps below:
- Launch the Application icon
- Proceed to Settings
- Tap the General tab
- Select the About Device option
- Go over to Build Number and tap it seven times which will activate Developer Mode
- Return to the Phone Setting menu, you should see Developer Options there
- Tap Developer Options
- Put a check on the box next to USB Debugging
- Choose OK when a confirmation message pops out
- Connect your Galaxy Note 3 to the PC via USB
2. Disable USB 3.0 Charging
This solution was suggested by the ROG (Republic of Gamers) forum. According to a contributor, USB 3.0 charging can be disabled through the BIOS menu.
Entering BIOS and switching off this particular feature may vary depending on the motherboard of your computer. So, be sure to check the Technical Support of your computer’s manufacturer or your computer’s manual to find out how to go about it.
Alternatively, you can disconnect the PSU switch inside the computer which enables this feature.
Lastly, connect the Galaxy Note 3 to the USB 3.0 port of the PC. Based on a feedback, turning off the USB 3.0 charging feature fixed the problem wherein the Galaxy Note 3 can’t connect to PC successfully.
John Boss, a reader, suggests that the problem may be caused by having two different versions of KIES. He noted that the Galaxy Note 2 has version 2.6 and Galaxy Note 3 has KIES 3.
