The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite smartphone has just made its entry into the FCC for certification, thus confirming its existence. The smartphone sadly will not break cover during the CES 2014 event if previous rumors are to be believed, but it’s almost a certainty to break cover at the MWC along with several other Samsung devices like the Galaxy Gear 2 and the Galaxy Band fitness accessory.
Rumors hint at a 5 inch 480×800 resolution display, a 5MP camera on the back, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a 1.2 GHz quad core processor of unknown make and a 2,100 mAh battery (confirmed by the listing) possibly with Android 4.3 or even KitKat. Considering that the Galaxy Grand was a midrange device, makes us less excited about the prospects of this new handset.
However, such handsets have a huge market in regions of Asia as well as Europe, so we can’t really write them off before it is shown off. Its arrival at the FCC also opens doors for an American launch, possibly through prepaid carriers like MetroPCS and Boost Mobile.
