After months of waiting, it’s finally here. The Wooden Moto X can now be customized and bought via Moto Maker. It’s only the Bamboo variant which has broken cover for the time being, but it’s still better than nothing. Motorola is expected to launch three more wooden variants soon. Users will have to pay an extra $100 for this variant, which is not a bad price to pay for a unique handset like this.
So the handset will effectively cost $199.99 with a two year contract for the 16GB version or $249.99 for double the storage. Off contract pricing is set at $599.99 and $649.99 respectively. This is the standard pricing for a new handset, so Motorola isn’t overcharging the customers here. However, Motorola mentions “delayed shipping” in the listing, which could mean a week or maybe more before shipments start flying off to the customers.
Just as the standard Moto Maker variant, the Bamboo Moto X can be customized as the users get to choose a separate accent color as well as the color for the front panel (white or black). Users can even add a marking or signature on the back which is a neat touch as well. Head over to the link below to reserve a unit of the Wooden Moto X before shipping gets delayed further.
