People had very high expectations from the LG G2 when it was launched by the company roughly four months ago. However, it seems like those expectations weren’t well met as the sales figures reveal that only 2.3 million units of the handset were sold so far. It’s a pretty poor showing from a smartphone which was easily one of the best in terms of hardware and features at the time of its launch.
LG’s home region of Korea which is usually very favorable towards the company only saw about 600,000 units in sales, which explains it all. The company originally expected to sell over 3 million smartphones in Q3 but that might have been a bit far fetched as the handset started reaching markets only in late Q3. When the G2 was launched, there was no smartphone which could even remotely challenge its superiority, so these numbers come as a surprise to us. But we expect the company to make a strong comeback in December during the holiday season shopping sales.
