Latest Instagram update brings the ability to share photos privately with friends/family

Instagram DirectThe world’s most popular image sharing network has just received a big update which introduces a feature called Instagram Direct. This feature allows users to share an image with a selected bunch of people rather than showing it to the entirety of their followers. This is ideal for celebrities who have a lot of followers, but can’t really share private images meant for family without showing it to everyone else. We can call this an extension of the Direct Messaging feature on Facebook or even WhatsApp. The developers will roll out an update to the app starting from today for both Android and iOS devices simultaneously.

We’re yet to check out how well this feature works after the new Instagram version 5.0 update, but it’s clear that the developers have put in a lot of work to bring this to fruition. However, this is one of those features which should have existed from the start, but simply didn’t make it. But Instagrammers will welcome this new update with open arms and will now be able to filter who they share their images with.
