The much rumored Huawei Ascend Mate 2 phablet has been spotted in a fresh batch of leaked images courtesy of Engadget. These images reveal almost everything we needed to know about the smartphone, so there’s no more mystery left. The specs of the smartphone is the same as we had expected all along and it’s not too impressive to be honest. We’re not sure if Huawei has thought this through, but a 720p display on a 6.1 inch smartphone makes absolutely no sense in this day and age, especially for a device which has received plenty of hype.
The smartphone is also confirmed to pack 2GB of RAM, a 13MP camera with optical image stabilization accompanied by a 5MP front camera, a 1.6 GHz quad core Huawei Kirin 910 chipset, a gargantuan 4,050 mAh battery and Android 4.2 with Huawei’s custom Emotion UI. You can check out the leaked shots of the smartphone from all angles in the gallery below. The smartphone is most likely going to break cover on the second day of the CES event which is on the 7th of January. Pricing is going to be crucial as with any midrange smartphone and we hope Huawei gets it right.
