HTC One Mini to temporarily resume sales in the UK

HTC One MiniThe HTC One Mini was banned from selling in the United Kingdom after Nokia successfully won a patent infringement suit against the company. However, the Taiwanese manufacturer has received a minor reprieve now as it hopes to overturn this decision with the Court of Appeal on the 12th of December. A UK court has stayed the injunction brought by Nokia which means that HTC can resume selling the One Mini smartphone until then which is only a couple of days from now, but should be enough time to clear the inventories.

HTC said the following in a statement – “HTC is pleased that an urgent hearing with the Court of Appeal has been scheduled for Dec. 12. Until the Court of Appeal hearing on Dec. 12, the court’s injunction against HTC is stayed. Until the hearing on Dec. 12, our U.K. customers will be able to sell all HTC devices which are already in their inventories.”

This is a temporary breather for HTC, although it will hope to lift the ban imposed by the courts once and for all in its appeal on Thursday. The One Mini hasn’t been doing well in the markets as it is and a ban could only make things worse for HTC.
