It’s Cyber Monday, and as the last day of the Black Friday weekend officially winds to a close in the next 24 hours, we’re bound to see quite a few good deals on mobile devices crop up here and there. For those that have been looking to buy a 7-inch Android tablet, Amazon has a few of its Kindle Fire models on sale – the prices of the original 7-inch Kindle Fire HD and the Kindle Fire HDX 7 (16GB models) have been reduced by $50, to $119 and $179 respectively. The deal will be valid throughout Monday, though stocks are limited, meaning you’ll have to move quickly if you want to get one of the Kindles at the lower price.
Thanks to the deal, the 16GB Kindle Fire HD 7 is actually cheaper than the 8GB model. The specs of the Fire HD include a 7-inch 1280×800 LCD display, 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 processor, 1GB RAM, and Android 4.0 beneath Amazon’s custom Fire OS. Meanwhile, the Kindle Fire HDX 7 comes with a 7-inch 1920×1200 screen that’s considered one of the best in the business, 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a front-facing camera, 16GB of storage, and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, once again hidden under Amazon’s custom OS. There’s no access to Google Play, but with Amazon’s own content ecosystem being a giant one, that’s not exactly an issue that should deter you from buying either tablet.
