Mike Chen, vice president of Belkin’s networking division, said that “With so much of our lives embedded in our mobile devices, it’s only natural that people are looking for more ways to share content from their smartphones with family and friends. Miracast makes it easy to share rich content, in full 1080p resolution, on your large HDTV so you aren’t crowded around a tiny screen.”

Consumers will be able to view content from an Android device such as movies, TV shows, video clips, photos, games or apps in full HD without the need for messy cables.

  • Full 1080p HD resolution for a full, rich picture
  • Plug-and-play installation and setup, connects directly to HDMI port

Miracast is a wireless technology that allows content on an Android device running on at least Android 4.2 to be duplicated on TV. This allows content to be viewed on a much larger display and is great for watching HD movies, playing games, or surfing the web. The technology is dependent on the Android device it is paired to so if the device goes in sleep mode the screen on the TV will also go black.
