ASUS is known for a myriad of devices of varying form factors and sizes. Most notable of them are the Transformer and the Padfone series of devices. According to a new leak, the latter might be getting a new variant in the form of the Padfone Mini. A Chinese site claims that the smartphone will be launched later next week on the 11th of December, contrary to previous reports of a CES time launch.
The source claims that ASUS has already sent out invitations to the local media for the launch event in Taiwan, strongly hinting at a launch next Wednesday. The Padfone Mini will reportedly pack a 4.3 inch display with a qHD resolution which will dock into a smaller 7 inch tablet. It is expected that the smartphone will pack dual SIM support, a quad core Snapdragon 400 SoC and also Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
The existing lineup of Padfone devices isn’t available on a global scale, so we don’t expect the Padfone Mini to be any different in that regard. But we’ll know more during the launch event next Wednesday and that’s only if these rumors turn out to be true.
