ASUS recently unveiled the Padfone Mini with a relatively moderate hardware specs sheet. However, it seems like the Taiwanese manufacturer might have yet another version of the Padfone lined up for us with a benchmarking site leaking the existence of the Padfone X. This variant of the Padfone is reportedly the successor to the Padfone 2 which broke cover in December last year. So a launch during CES launch seems very likely given the timing of this new leak.
Speaking of the benchmark results (AnTuTu), it is revealed to feature Qualcomm’s top of the line Snapdragon 800 SoC. The Padfone X will also reportedly sport a 1080p display with the exact size not known yet. This smartphone+tablet combo is also said to sport 16GB of internal storage along with 2GB of RAM.
So it’s easy to ascertain that the Padfone X is a high end device and will follow in the footsteps of its predecessors quite well. All eyes will now be focused on the CES event where we expect to uncover quite a lot of information about future smartphones and tablets, with the Padfone X now being one of them.
