Virgin Mobile has just announced the availability of the HTC Desire (known globally as the Desire 601) through its retail channels. The smartphone will only cost $279.99 off contract and will support both 3G and 4G LTE networks through Sprint. Although HTC calls this the Desire, it has nothing to do with the original HTC Desire which launched back in 2010.
The new HTC Desire packs a 4.5 inch qHD display, a 1.4 GHz dual core Snapdragon 400 chip, a 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5.0 and a 2,100 mAh battery. The smartphone comes with front facing dual stereo speakers known as HTC BoomSound, pretty much like the HTC One.
As this runs Sense 5.0, features like BlinkFeed, Zoe and Video Highlights are available by default which is great for a midrange device. Head over to the source link below to check out Virgin Mobile’s voice/data plans for the smartphone.
