Last week we reported a leaked document that showed the availability of the Nexus 5 on T-Mobile starting this November 20. T-mobile will only be offering the 16GB model which will disappoint customers who want to own the 32 GB model. The Nexus 5 costs $349.99 if bought directly from the google Play Store however customers won’t have to shell out that amount if bought under the network. An upfront payment of $41.99 is required then $17 per month over 24 months. Over a two year period this totals to $450 which is $100 higher than the $350 price of the device Google has set.

A lot of consumers are asking why T-Mobile is charging $100 more for the device compared to Google. The carrier explained that LG charges them $450 for each device. Unless T-Mobile wants to lose a lot of money then then it has to sell the device at the set price. It is Google then that is offering a $100 discount on each device.

The press release made by the carrier at their website states that

“T-Mobile makes it easy and affordable to get the hottest Android smartphone in time for the holidays with an upfront cost of only $41.99 down and 24 equal monthly device payments of $17 with T-Mobile’s Simple Choice Plan. T-Mobile offers Nexus 5 customers an unprecedented wireless experience by freeing them from annual service contracts, overage worries, ridiculous upgrade restrictions and complicated plans while on a speedy nationwide 4G LTE network.
