Sprint bound ZTE tablet visits the FCC

ZTE Tablet

A new FCC listing has revealed the existence of a Sprint tablet manufactured by Chinese OEM ZTE. While there’s no information on what this tablet will feature, it’s possibly safe to assume that it’s a low end tablet aimed to compete against the likes of the Google Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX. It is easy to decipher from the corresponding images in the FCC listing that the tablet will pack a 7 inch display, so it is most likely a low end tablet. The tablet has the model number V72C.

The timing of this FCC listing is interesting as Verizon launched the Ellipsis 7 tablet just yesterday which is solely targeted towards the budget segment. We can expect this ZTE tablet to pack a low end MediaTek manufactured quad core processor and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean among other features we’ve come to expect from budget hardware. While this ZTE tablet might not exactly fly off the shelves, it will certainly provide a healthy alternative to users looking for an affordable LTE tablet.
