Huawei is known for its versatile range of smartphones, much like Samsung. And the list includes enormous phablets as well as decent midrange offerings.
A couple of months ago, the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 leaked out revealing the newest phablet in town with a massive 6.1 inch display. Today, we have confirmation of that along with the rest of the specs sheet and a bunch of images revealing the handset from almost every angle.
The report from Huawei News further suggests that the smartphone will feature a new Kirin910 chipset made by relatively unknown manufacturer named HiSilicon with a 1.6 GHz quad core Cortex-A9 processor, 16GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Huawei’s Emotion UI.
The chipset on board isn’t actually a powerhouse, but should be manageable for a smartphone of its caliber. There’s no word on when the Ascend Mate 2 will be launched, but the CES is usually the right stage for launch of such handsets, so we can expect Huawei to provide more details this January. The Huawei Ascend P6S could be launched during the same time.
