LG has been marginally behind the competition in sending out updates to its flagship smartphones. We’ve seen numerous ‘Optimus’ branded smartphones in the past getting lost in the wild due to lack of proper software support. But LG will not repeat the same mistakes again according to a new leak. This leak claims that the company will start rolling out the latest Android 4.4 update to the LG G2 smartphone beginning from December.
The information comes from French carrier SFR. This could mean that an international rollout of the update could begin around the same time. It’s really good to know that LG will be among the first OEMs to rollout an update to its flagship smartphone, even before Samsung, HTC or Sony.
The carrier variants of the smartphone could take slightly longer to get the update as we have come to expect. We might be looking at a complete rollout of the update by January next year. American carriers are yet to give out any information on the status of the updates, but we hope to get a word or two soon.
