Verizon has just made the ISIS mobile payment system available for residents in the U.S. through all Verizon outlets. The carrier is also offering a decent $10 credit to the customers for wireless payments. ISIS is basically like Google Wallet and it requires users to hook up one or more credit cards to the ISIS account to make a payment by just tapping on NFC counters across various stores. The arrival of ISIS is what caused the carrier to not allow Google Wallet to function on its devices. Since the service is available through major American carriers, we expect ISIS to catch on quickly.
ISIS Mobile Wallet is compatible with Chase, American Express and several other retailer specific cards, which is quite a bonus as it lets users cut down on the unnecessary pile of cards in their wallets. Verizon claims that users will need a special SIM for ISIS to function, which can either be ordered through their website or attained from one of its many retail outlets. A total of 15 phones are said to be compatible with ISIS Mobile Wallet for the time being, which includes almost every new flagship launched with NFC through Verizon.
