Smartwatches are currently the trend with the likes of Pebble and Sony pioneering the segment. Samsung tried to join in on the action but failed miserably with the Galaxy Gear. But Chinese company Goophone, which is known for its replicas or copies of popular phones like the iPhone 5s has now come up with a smartwatch of its own. We recently spotted this smartwatch on Goophone’s site, and now we have a short video showing the smartwatch in action. This is a hands on video of the smartwatch from Chinese site GizChina, which shows off the design and the functioning of the device.
Surprisingly, Goophone has decided to go with a Windows Phone interface for the homescreen, while the rest of the features resemble stock Android. The smartwatch also comes with the Google Play Store, unlike many other smartwatches, thus giving it a distinct advantage over rival offerings. The Goophone Smartwatch is currently listed as coming soon on its website with a 5-7 day waiting period, so there’s no information on whether Goophone will ship it outside China, but we hope they do.
