Verizon Moto X Gets OTA Update, Comes with Improved Camera Functionality, And More

Owners of the Moto X using the T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T, or U.S. Cellular network already have access to the first OTA update of the device. This time Verizon has made the update available on its network and is now available for download OTA. Software update 139.15.1.ghost_verizon.Verizon.en.US brings several enhancements that will make the device work even better.

This latest update which still lets the Moto X run on Android 4.2 comes with lots of camera improvements, increased accuracy for touchless control, improved call quality, and other bug fixes. Take note that once the update has successfully installed in your device you cannot downgrade anymore to the previous version.

The update should be available right now for all Moto X users of the Verizon network. If you have not received the notification of the update you can check on it manually. The procedure is listed below.

  • Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.
  • Select “About phone”.
  • Select “System updates”.
  • Select “Download”. After the software is downloaded, select “Install”.
  • After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
  • Your phone is now updated to 139.15.1.ghost_verizon.Verizon.en.US.
