Right at the start of the week, we told you that Verizon would be giving a status update on the rollout of Android 4.3 for the HTC One, and unfortunately we don’t have good news coming through. According to Jason Mackenzie of HTC, the update has been delayed by a month. He said in his tweet – “we need more time to spin new SW & re-test 4.3 update. Approx a month. Appreciate your patience as we work to deliver“.
It’s rather strange that Verizon is the last to rollout the update for its variant of the HTC One while the Samsung Galaxy S4 on its network is the first to get the Android 4.3 update in the country. Clearly there are some issues with HTC which needs sorting out, so the delay is very unfortunate. However, Verizon’s track record with updates hasn’t been all that great with a few exceptions, so the delay isn’t really surprising. We can empathize with Verizon customers though as the smartphone only recently made its way to the market.
