T-Mobile has just announced the arrival of the inexpensive Samsung Galaxy Light smartphone through its retail channels. While there’s no ETA or pricing details available yet, the smartphone should make its way to stores in a couple of weeks. T-Mobile seems to be steadily building its midrange lineup as it announced a couple of budget droids from Alcatel earlier in the day.
The Galaxy Light packs a 4 inch 480×800 resolution display, a quad core 1.4 GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage with support for microSD cards, a 5MP camera on the back, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and a 1,800 mAh battery. The smartphone also features HD voice and 4G LTE through T-Mobile’s steadily expanding network. As the smartphone is a regular midrange device, we don’t expect it to cost more than $99 with a two year contract. T-Mobile will also offer the smartphone through its zero down payment promotion.
T-Mobile also announced the Samsung LTE Mobile HotSpot Pro for $49.99 and 24 monthly installments of $5. This mobile hotspot unit is capable of providing internet access to over 10 devices at a time using T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network.
