Samsung reportedly shipped 5 million units of the Galaxy Note 3 in a month

Galaxy Note 3

The head of Samsung’s mobile division, JK Shin has mentioned that the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone has surpassed 5 million shipments since its official launch in the markets almost a month ago. This includes carriers, retailers and others sales outlets. Although the carrier variants didn’t officially arrive until October, global markets received the smartphone relatively early by the end of September.

Even though shipments don’t necessarily mean final sales, it does give us an idea of the demand the phablet is seeing. The original Galaxy Note and the Galaxy Note II took 5 and 2 months to reach this milestone, so this is certainly a huge increase in sales for Samsung. The Galaxy Note 3 is touted as the best Samsung smartphone of the year by critics and fans alike. The S Pen has received substantial improvements and so has the design. Although the Galaxy Gear smartwatch didn’t turn out to be a major success, Samsung’s primary device has reached its expectations. With the holidays quickly approaching, we can expect sales to increase further with holiday season discounts and offers from retailers.
