The Android powered Polaroid iM1836 camera is finally up for grabs, a good 10 months after its initial announcement back in January. This smart-camera can now be grabbed online over at Amazon or through Walmart stores in the U.S. The camera runs on relatively older Android 4.1, but it shouldn’t be a major concern as the hardware is what matters here. The lens on the camera is user changeable, which is a nice liberty to have, especially if you’re a professional. The camera will only cost $299.99, which is a great price and puts it right up against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom as well as the Galaxy Camera. The camera comes with neat features like auto blink and face detection as well as a detachable flash. It packs a 10-30mm lens on board, with additional lenses hitting the markets soon.
Speaking of the hardware, the Polaroid iM1836 packs a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display and an 18MP camera sensor with no word on processor or RAM capacity inside. Storage shouldn’t be a major concern as it packs a card slot anyways. For $299.99, this camera sounds like a great deal, especially compared to competitive offerings.
