Plague Inc is a great game that has a large following of fans, including myself. If you don’t know what the game is about, you have to indirectly mutate different pathogens to infect and kill everyone on Earth. It’s actually very fun.

Whenever they have a new update, it’s always fun to play. The latest update (1.6) was released back in August, so it’s really exciting to see Ndemic pushing the game forward. Today, Ndemic has released some details on the new upcoming 1.7 update, to be released in a few months when the development is done.

First of all, Ndemic is adding in the ability to mutate already existing diseases in the game, such as the Black Death, the Swine Flu (H1N1), Smallpox, and others. That’s really cool to play with existing diseases and see where they could possibly go.

There are also new “alternate universes” where real-life scenarios such as countries defaulting on their debt, xenophobia, or a sudden ice age can affect gameplay. That makes the game more fun as well, since those scenarios can directly affect gameplay in relation to travel or the economy.

Two of these new scenarios will be free and the rest will be $1 in app purchases. They can also be acquired by a $3 “season pass” which will give you access to these and new scenarios in the future. The “season pass” feature is still unclear how it works, but we’ll let you know when we find out.

There will be new achievements to go along with the new gameplay features, so now you’ll be able to better show off to your friends on Play Games how good you are at Plague Inc. Of course, there will be bug fixes to go along with the update to fix any issues you may already be experiencing.

According to Ndemic, the update should hit iOS devices sometime in November, while those of us on Android will be following soon after. So those of you with Plague Inc, are you as excited as I am?
