The Motorola X has just gotten its first permanent price drop. Starting today, if you order the Moto X from Moto Maker, the starting price is now only $99.99 on contract. That’s a really great price drop for a great phone, especially considering the camera just got a big improvement.
The 16 GB model has been dropped down to $99.99 and the 32 GB model is now $149.99. Once again, these are on-contract prices. Notably, AT&T is still charging $199.99 and $249.99 for the 16 and 32 GB models, respectively. AT&T will probably soon drop the price for purchasing a Moto X from them as well.
Unfortunately, the Moto Maker is still exclusive to AT&T only. That’s a real shame, considering the Moto X has been on all 4 major carriers (and a few smaller ones) for some time now. But the latest rumors point to Verizon maybe getting access to Moto Maker on November 11th.
However, the Nexus 5 is reportedly still due to be revealed in the next few days, but it won’t be on Verizon so this is the closest device to Stock Android you can get there. Plus, we still don’t know if the Nexus 5 will also gain Touchless Control, so this is still a great phone for that purpose.
So if you don’t have a Moto X yet (and are on AT&T) and have been wanting one, there’s now a great reason to purchase one. But will you?
