Some Korean publications have confirmed the arrival of the LG made Nexus 5 for later this month and the G Flex smartphone with a curved display for November. The interesting bit about the G Flex is that the smartphone would apparently be rolled out globally and on three South Korean carriers. The Samsung made competitor to the G Flex will be manufactured in limited quantities and probably won’t see a launch outside Korea according to reports, so LG already has a substantial advantage with its offering. However, we’re not sure if LG will mass produce the flexible OLED panels or make it in limited quantities to test the waters first.
Further information on this smartphone reveals that the shape of the smartphone makes for an enjoyable video viewing experience on landscape mode. We can also expect LG to add some neat software features to complement the design of the smartphone well, much like what Samsung did with the Galaxy Round. These reports further claim that LG will be launching a Firefox OS smartphone as well, so it seems like LG will be having a busy couple of months with the launch of two niche products along with the highly anticipated Nexus 5 smartphone.
