Galaxy Note 3 region locking can now be fixed through RegionLock Away

Galaxy Note 3

Samsung has received a lot of flak for its recent region locking issue with the Galaxy Note 3. And now a user at XDA has come up with a neat fix for this bug in the form of an app. As any app of this nature, the RegionLock Away app will require Galaxy Note 3 smartphones to be rooted.  Bear in mind, this solution only works for the model number SM-N9005 running on the MI7 firmware. With Samsung not giving out any concrete solutions for users who have been caught up in this unfortunate tangle, this is the only way around for the time being. But even with such third party fixes in place, it’s probably better to wait till Samsung has a proper fix to the region locking glitch.

Strangely, region locking has not been spotted on the Asian variants of the Galaxy Note 3, so we think it’s got something to do with the European variants in particular. If you own a region locked Galaxy Note 3, watch the video below to understand how the RegionLock Away app works.
