Samsung recently refreshed the Exynos mobile SoC with the addition of the Exynos 5420 chipset. This chipset can be found on the international non-LTE variants of the Galaxy Note 3 smartphone. However, it appears that Samsung is eager to bring a new variant already. A tweet by the Samsung Exynos page reads – “Exynos processors are about to undergo another evolution… Can you guess what it will be?” We hope there won’t be an Exynos 5430 now after the Exynos 5410 and the 5420 launched this year alone.
One can speculate that this will be a chip developed for low end budget handsets that Samsung sells in millions. Or perhaps Samsung will introduce a new Snapdragon 800 contender to the market, which could be crucial for LTE markets. However with the year’s quota of flagships already exhausted, Samsung will have to wait until next year to test it out on a device. Samsung didn’t mention the ETA for this new chipset, but it will probably be shown off sometime next week.
