As the Sony Xperia Z1 was announced yesterday, pricing details weren’t revealed. But now we have that information too, thanks to sources from Germany and the UK. The well-known UK retailer, Clove, has put up the smartphone up on pre order for £564 which is about $880. Sony Germany however has mentioned that the smartphone will cost about €649 or $856. Negri Electronics has priced the smartphone at $729.5 and is expected to have it in stock by September 20, so we have a brief idea of where Sony is headed with its pricing. Of course, carriers in the U.S. will adopt a different pricing model and we can expect the standard $600-$650 off contract pricing.
Amazon is currently listing the add-on Smart Shot camera lenses known as the QX-10 and the QX-100 for $248 and $498 respectively. These lenses can be added on to the Xperia smartphones or other Android smartphones with relative ease. The Xperia Z1 should launch later this month in the U.S. along with a bunch of other countries. There’s no word on which carrier in the U.S. will sell the smartphone, but our first guess is AT&T and T-Mobile.
