Two new low cost HTC smartphones have been spotted at a Chinese certification site bearing the model number 7060 and 7088. Both these smartphones are essentially the same but with different radios inside with support for TD-SCDMA and WCDMA respectively. From the looks, the handset appear to be a low cost variant of the widely popular HTC Butterfly and Butterfly S smartphones, while the front looks a lot like the One and One Mini. Needless to say, this is a budget smartphone, so don’t expect to see this making its way outside of Asia for the time being.
The rumored specs include a 5 inch 720p display, an 8MP camera on the back, 1GB of RAM, a 1.2 GHz quad core processor (possibly MediaTek) and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The model number indicates that the smartphone could be tagged under the Desire 700 series of smartphones, which have traditionally been low cost midrange offerings. We expect to learn more about the pricing and availability soon as HTC makes the device public.
