MetroPCS LG Motion now sells for $40

The MetroPCS LG Motion is now selling for $40 without a contract. Reddit user jwyche008 pointed this out on a post in the website, saying that the device is possibly only available in MetroPCS stores, and not online. Currently, a search for LG Motion yields no results on the MetroPCS website.

The device does not have very impressive specifications when compared to today’s standards, but it may be a good deal for those who are looking for an off-contract smartphone.

MetroPCS LG Motion specifications

The MetroPCS LG Motion comes with a 3.5-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960L SoC with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz, 1GB of RAM, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It also comes with a rear-facing 5 MP camera with LED flash and 1080p video recording capability as well as various shooting modes like Panorama, Face Recognition and Time Catch. There is a front-facing VGA camera, as well. Users also get 8GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB of extra space. Connectivity-wise, it supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Mobile Hotspot. Furthermore, it has a removable 1700mAh Lithium-Ion battery, which is estimated to have enough juice for 5.4 hours of voice calls, and 290 hours of standby time. It also arrives with several pre-installed apps from MetroPCS, as well as an LG app launcher and app drawer.

The MetroPCS LG Motion has dimensions of 2.4 by 4.4 by .45 inches and weighs 4.7 ounces. It features a textured rear plate made of plastic, and has three capacitive buttons right below the display.

MetroPCS LG Motion availability

Meanwhile, for consumers who do not have access to MetroPCS stores, the device is also listed at Amazon, where it retails for the higher price of $99.99, with free shipping. It may be worth noting that the MetroPCS LG Motion was originally sold for $149.99 when it was released back in 2012.
