HTC America has lived up to its promise and has started the roll out of Android 4.3 to the Developer Edition HTC One smartphones. The update will bring in all the standard changes that come bundled with Android 4.3 along with some new tweaks to HTC’s default apps and features. The changelog should be fairly similar to the Taiwanese Android 4.3 update which started yesterday. Canadian variants of the HTC One will get the update by the end of the month.
While the update is great news for a specific set of customers, owners of the HTC One on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon will have to do some more waiting. Carrier variants usually end up being the last to get updates compared to the unlocked variants, as the process is relatively longer. But we’re hoping carriers to start the update roll out by November. We can expect HTC’s upcoming One Max phablet to launch with Android 4.3 out of the box, but sadly there’s no launch date in sight yet.
