We all knew that an Android 4.3 update was on the cards for the HTC One in the U.S., but didn’t quite know when to expect it. But it seems like the day is nigh now with a new Android 4.3 ROM with Sense 5 leaking out for the AT&T version of the HTC One. Most importantly, this version of the ROM appears to be close to the final build, so an update might be hitting smartphones sooner than expected. Users can now flash the RUU file containing all the essential components or flash the ROM file and radios separately from RootzWiki. There is sufficient risk involved though, so do this only if you know what you’re getting into.
Since the updates in the U.S. are heavily reliant on the carriers, we might not see the same swiftness in the roll out of the update from other carriers, especially Verizon which only recently began selling the smartphone. But it is good news that HTC has made the update available to carriers, which means Sprint and T-Mobile might post an update soon.
